Ready to take the Scalextric Challenge?
25/03/10 10:43 Filed in: Public Relations

PNDesign, Scalextric, home of Formula One and Help for Heroes - all in the same sentence. Now I never saw that one coming!
Paul recently came across an opportunity to contribute to Help for Heroes, a charity for the wounded in Britain's current conflicts, and with a brother active in the RAF this is one charity close to his heart. Combined with child-long obsessions with Scalextric and Formula One, how could he not refuse to come on board as a corporate sponsor for this year's Scalextric Challenge?
With regional heats all over the country, this is something you can get involved in too - show your support by turning up and having a go. The fastest times will be put on a leader board and in October the top 32 will be invited to the British Racing Drivers Club in Silverstone for the final - could it get any better? Check out the Scalectric Challenge website for up-do-date news, leader board and a list of forthcoming heats.

“I have used PNDesign for a number of years for designing leaflets, posters and other promotional materials for my photography business. PNDesign have always provided an excellent, high quality design service with a creative, responsive, friendly approach. Deadlines have always been met, even when I land urgent jobs on them, which is why I continue to use and recommend them.”

Broxtowe Youth Council

“Broxtowe Youth Council decided they wanted a magazine for young people in Broxtowe and we approached PNDesign as they had been recommended to us by Broxtowe Borough Council. This was to be a magazine made by young people for young people and we met with them to discuss what sort of design, layout and material was to be put in it.
Their enthusiasm and patience has been paramount ever since!! It is not easy working with a group of approx 25 young people all shouting out their ideas but this is what they did and brilliantly.
It has been quite difficult in a lot of ways to collate articles and photographs from different areas of Broxtowe by different young people and get them over to PNDesign. Their designer Louise has come over to us, looked at what we have gathered together, discussed what we wanted to do and sorted out many of the technical problems we had. Her input has been invaluable and we could not have asked for better help. Her expertise and guidance has been second to none and without her personal help we would not have been able to produce such a glossy and successful magazine.
It has been so successful that it as been used as a model for other youth service areas.”

Getting 'Inspire'd in Nottingham
07/03/10 10:27 Filed in: Events
PNDesign’s founder and MD, Paul Newson, was proud to sponsor the March Inspire networking event at Fraser Brown Solicitors in Nottingham on Thursday, 4th March.
As a regular attendee and one of the founding members of the networking club way back in early 2009, Paul has made many great contacts amongst the business community of Nottingham. He gave a quick presentation introducing our services, before handing over to the main presenter - Claire Curzon, a social-networking specialist.
Originally more ‘creative industries’ focused, the club now attracts a wide range of businesses, some travelling from Sheffield, Derbyshire or Leicestershire to attend the monthly event. In fact, organiser Lee Callendar even had to turn people away due to fire restrictions in the 1930’s wood panelled offices - a shame, but it just shows how the club has grown in recent months, all down to Lee’s email marketing campaign.

BID Event a Success for all

MD Paul Newson and PR Manager Vivienne Tregidga worked hard to provide a Marketing and PR strategy which successfully attracted over 60 local businesses to the event - many more, in fact, than the Nottingham BID attracted to their recent meeting, according to local radio station Trent FM.
Presentations were made by BID Manager Matt Robinson, PNDesign, Trent FM and Nottingham University, on a wide range of proposals designed to promot Beeston to a wider audience over the next few years.
The branding, marketing and public relations strategy devised by PNDesign has been so successful in fact that it is attracting interest from BID UK as well as one or two other towns who may need our help!

Steve Gregg, Sales and Marketing Manager of Project MC and the lucky winner of the competition is pictured (left) receiving the champagne from PNDesign MD Paul Newson. Steve said: “How delightful to be presented with a bottle of Moet champagne, thank you. I look forward to seeing the next edition of your newsletter, so please put me on the circular list.” We’re happy to oblige!

New site for NEBA goes live!
21/01/10 12:20 Filed in: Web Design
The new website for NEBA (Nottinghamshire Education Business Alliance) has gone live. This is the largest site that PNDesign have managed to-date, and we are very pleased with the outcome - as is the client.
Louise Hawkings, NEBA’s Marketing & Communications Officer said: “PNDesign provided us with an excellent design service during our website re-development, creating a fresh and dynamic look for the site, reflective of the NEBA brand. I would have no hesitation in recommending PNDesign to anyone looking for a professional marketing service.”
PNDesign successfully tendered for the design of the new site after pitching against 4 other agencies. Teaming up with another local agency, WebFuel, provided the winning combination of design, brand management and software implementation which has given the site a completely new look and feel, complete with a CMS based news feed, calendar and many other resources for users to access.

Easy as 123 for new numeracy website
06/02/10 17:51 Filed in: Web Design

PNDesign have recently finished the rebranding and design of David Sharp’s numeracy website at 3right.co.uk.
The site is designed to help school-children and learners of all ages improve their numeracy skills. Users log into their own account and can pick up from where they were last time, progressing through the different levels by getting at least 3 answers right in a row. The questions get progressively harder in line with the user’s ability. The service is available to schools on a subscription basis and is proving to be very popular for learners of all levels.
PNDesign’s role was to examine the way the site was used, especially the introductory sections, and re-brand the site to make it look more modern and user friendly.
Ten Top Tips for New Businesses

PNDesign have published a simple 10-point guide for new or young businesses, featuring very simple no-nonsense yet practical advice.
The guide was originally produced for the recent NewBusinessLive! event at Nottingham Arena, but has since been picked up by several publishers and training organisations who have asked up for permission to publish the article themselves, or include it in their training materials. Of course we are honoured to do so! It has even led to some mentoring work for Paul at Nottingham Trent University.
